Graphite Chilling Blocks for Foundry

Graphite Chilling Blocks for Foundry

Chilling Blocks is a cold block placed in the cavity, the cavity surface and the mold to accelerate the local cooling rate of the casting. The cooler is used in conjunction with the pouring system and riser system to control the solidification sequence of the casting, resulting in a qualified casting.

Graphite chilling blocks has the advantages of light specific gravity, high temperature resistance, high thermal conductivity and reusable. Therefore, the problem of porosity and shrinkage of cast steel, copper and aluminum can be solved better by using graphite cold iron as the refrigerant instead of metal. It can effectively solve the casting defects such as white spots and pores caused by the use of metal chills.

Graphite chilling blocks are refractory components used in metal casting to control the solidification rate of molten metal. They are made of high-density graphite and placed in contact with the metal as it cools, absorbing heat and accelerating the solidification process. The use of graphite chilling blocks can improve casting quality by reducing shrinkage defects and promoting uniformity in metal structure.
